Unfortunately, both parents and teachers are being targeted…
Yes, there are actually three sides to this political power struggle, and while parents and teachers think they are ‘versing’ each other for school control, both groups are getting played in a behind-the-scenes privateer chess game. What exactly is going on with School Choice / Parent Empowerment legislation, and why do parents and teachers need to unite to mend and strengthen public education?
Dr. Vickie Markavitch, Oakland Schools Superintendent, shoots straight with truthful answers on an issue complicated by education funding cuts and reform, and deliberately obscured by corporate, for-profit propaganda.

Dr. Vickie L. Markavitch addresses her concerns about the Parent Trigger legislation being considered in Michigan.
Dr. Markavitch understands that parents want and need strong neighborhood schools for their children, but would like families to choose how to educate their children with a complete understanding of the facts, and the ramifications of current pro ed-choice politics. In the podcast, Dr. Markavitch points out that “choice without common standards, choice without information about quality, choice without transparency for how resources are going to be used is not really a choice at all – it is a guess. The Parent Trigger bill is nothing more than a shot in the dark.
Our kids deserve more than guesses.”

Are you kidding me? Did I just read a article that lost me because it ACTUALLY used the word ‘versing?’ It’s not even a REAL word. Such a shame.
Thank you for your opinion 🙂 ‘Versing’ is a video game term / slang, which is why it is parenthetical within the sentence. It was not intended to be a real word, or to offend.
Jennifer, this is how it’s done: In Google, you type in “define versing”, and you get this!
Urban Dictionary: versing

The action of writing verses of a poem with another person, versing and taking turns, you go i go.
